Hi
Is anyone having issue getting a epic crafted item using the specialization ability.
I have armor specialization, and just spent several hours trying to get a level 71 marksman hunter epic tunic.
I crafted 114 tunics, YES ONE HUNDRED AND FORTEEN TUNICS. First 30 were to get up to the 5-star rare, the next 84 were 5-star rare crafted item & zero (0) were epic. How many do you think should be crafted before the AI gives you an epic when you have armor specialization????????????????

The amount of time it takes to get the specialization is ridiculous to start with. 175,000 token for a specialization and then only get a chance to get an epic during a crafting of the same piece if gear. And then after 50, nothing but 5-star rare. This is the most wasteful event in the game, wasted materials, wasted gold, wasted time and not advancement to the next item need to move on. These specialization is supposed to be giving the item a 6-star rare piece, I don't see it.

This should be a guarantees epic item after you have craft 50-5-star item, but the dev have the AI doing randomization, and not increased percentage by crafted numbers.

I like to craft, I like to build a good character, but I want to build the character the way I want based on how I play / fight, so it should be set up so you can build your character in a way you want to meet your style of combat and not a randomized craft for every item you make at each level you recraft new gear.

Firstly I would suggest checking on user error:
1. Are you on the right toon
2. Did you USE the mark at Steely or is it just sitting in your bag? Having it just in your bag is not enough

Whenever I use my armour or weaponmaster it rolls epic every twelve crafts or so, so 114 without epics certainly sounds odd to me.

I do not agree with too expensive for tokens and 'all should be epic'. It is an extra, a SPECIALIZATION. If just anyone could have the mark for 50 tokens, what is the achievement? Then you might as well make it free. I have two toons with the mark and feel I deserved the mark on them, rather than having been given the mark along with buying a package of butter.
If it would always grant epic gear, the market would be overflown with epics and, they would completely lose all their value whatsoever.
I like the system the way it is now.

I have got epic on the character before, it is the right character.
My warrior got the epic bow in in 10 crafts (he has the weapon specialization).
Wizard got the multiples in the potion group (2, 3, & 5)
Priest made epic prep no problems.

It is random, It is not guaranteed as far as I understood but maybe I just need to make more. I made gear on my 2 toons that have the specialization and only ever got 1 epic. 1 epic between both toons, all the stuff I made I got rare and some good stuff, but only 1 epic. I just figured I'm not lucky.

I have Armor Spec on my main. I usually craft for epics in 10 item batches to make breaking down the rejects easier. I usually need to craft between 20-40 items before I get an epic, and the random nature means I probably wont like the stats. For the last chest piece I crafted, it took over 140 items to get an epic with the stats I mostly wanted. Given what a PITA helms are, I am not quite as picky there.

What is the point of getting the specialization if there is no chance of getting an epic.
I have got epic before at lower level crafted items, but this time I made 114 and the best I got was 5-star rare. What I am saying is that if you buy the specialization and craft 30 items, and then at that point there should a be chance to get an epic after a set number additional craft not craft hundred of item after 30 and never get one at all. THAT STINKS

Armor seems to be very challenging to get an epic piece. For weapons, I usually only have to craft about 40. For armor, it always seems to take many more attempts, although I've never counted.

If you believe this is a bug, by all means put in a ticket and report as you have here. :)

Did 22 crafts to get an epic on a 5 star armor recipe. I think it might be lag. I blame lag

That sounds more like RNG. (There have been times when my armor master needed to craft an item an additional 32 times (roughly) before I finally got an epic.) Within the past week, I needed to craft the lvl 70 lightning hat so many times before I finally got an epic that when I finished, I had 2 magic find runes, 2 blasting runes, and a beserk rune! (Those are the rarest of the reinforcement runes and are usually the reason why I make the same hat so many times!) LOL

Sometimes, you can blame lag, but as far as I've seen, lag doesn't affect the odds of rolling an epic piece of crafted gear or the rarest of the reinforcement runes.

That is just so wrong!

I had to craft over 61 items to get an epic item. (I was stubborn)
That is also so wrong!
The player has already crafted 30 items to reach 5 stars.
IMO its shouldn't be left to chance but in any event it should not be any less then 50/50 of crafting an epic item.

Actually I think 50/50 is much, if you did that it wouldnt even be special anymore. Then better 1/5 at most.
Anyway relax, be happy they didnt stick to the craft 100 for five star and THEN a 'Chance at'. Count your blessings!
To be quite honest I think crafting has already been made far too simple. The recipes hardly contain any brainpower anymore and I liked them better when you had to put together different items and then put THOSE with eachother too. I would not like seeing it made even easier to make an epic. If we keep going at this rate they'll soon have to redo the gearsystem again to put some new tiers above legendary, and again and again and again because people just keep complaining they cannot easily enough get stuff for free. Well, work for it for once! Please dont change the system to easier again!

In my experience, with a specialism, epic variations drop 1 out of 10 times mostly, some exceptions ofcourse. On each crafted item you have a chance for it to roll out as an epic item.. so if you have bad luck it can mean you have to craft the same version of an item over a hundred times before you get an epic. And then still it's also random which exact stats will be on the item. I have had to craft into the 100's of items to get an epic to drop, but also had some better luck at different items, where out of 10, 2 would be epic AND the right kind of stats as well.

Personally I do not prefer the simplicity of crafting recipe already, but the randomness of what you craft really spoils the fun in crafting for me.

I do not mind to put great effort and would rather have more complexity added to crafting, if it then guaranteed a certain outcome. At the moment, crafting has none of the above for me.

While I disagree, I do appreciate your opinion.
Thank you for sharing it.:)
I just don't feel skill should be a roll of the dice.

The randomness is what I also object to.
A simple or complex crafting system, it should be SKILL, not chance that decides the outcome.

I wish you well

The value of 'Epic' has dropped substantially with the addition of Dungeons, and thus the usefulness of crafting specializations. The entire construction process has been watered down to a skeleton of its former self, and gear lacks the salability, customization and meaning that I expect from an in-depth crafting system. The potential is there, buried underneath RNG and arbitrary grinding elements.

I've done my best to suggest an alternative system here, but it is definitely an overhaul rather than a modification. Simply put, I'd like to see a greater variety of options, be it epic stats, abilities or modifications for customization. These options should require time, and effort - but not luck. In one of the recent live-streams the lead designer was asked whether or not the gear system would receive any tweaks in the future, but the response indicated that the luck factor was intentional, and it's not going anywhere.

Master armorsmith greatly disappointed. Master armorsmith will NEVER do an object with wild characteristics. The difference between the rare and epic gears is minimal (10%). Question: why then this specialization?

at the moment I don’t see any specialization for the profession that I would like to take to my new toons. It can only be a master crafter (+ 50% exp). Yes, and I’m not sure, because I can upgrade to proffesion without it.

That's really, all craftgear professions are needed ONLY to make runes .And to do the runes can ANY player without specialization.

When there will be a new class, do you know how I will upgrade? I will dress in uncommon gears and improve it to rare. And very calm, without a headache, without sleepless nights, without tedious crafting, I will easily go through the game.

The difference in statistics between me and full epic and legendary gears man will be 20% .I think I’ll regret my nerves and do without these 20% gains. Anyway, our super overgear does not have to be applied :p

You should just be able to choose the stats you want and craft an epic 100% exactly what you want, but Increase the recipe requirements. each stat requiring different materials and epic lvl requiring more materials.
Randomised crafting does suck and honestly If you are a master at crafting you should be able to craft the finest quality items given you have the materials and tools to do so...
RANDOM CRAFTING IS JUST PLAIN TERRIBLE I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS. THAT'S MY OPINION NOT GOING TO CHANGE LOL

After checking for sometimes it feels like something wrong with the chance to get epic on chest armor, the other seems to follow the 10% chances that was mentioned sometimes ago

Ok, I was gonna make a thread about armor specialization. But I'll ask here.
All it says is that at 5 stars you have a chance. I was wondering if there was a set percentage on that chance of epic armor. Like 5% chance or something.
